Everything You Need To Know About Liposuction

LIPOSUCTION, WHICH IS ALSO KNOWN AS LIPOPLASTY, IS NOW A COMMON COSMETIC SURGICAL PROCEDURE CARRIED OUT ACROSS THE UK.

Need-to-Know-about-liposuction
In simplistic terms, this procedure ‘suctions out’ unwanted fat from different areas of the body. If you are considering having liposuction, then you may have many questions that you would like to ask. Perhaps you are anxious about the procedure? Below we explore everything you need to know about liposuction.
What exactly is liposuction?
This is a cosmetic procedure in which pockets of fat are removed from the body. Common areas of the body include the stomach, upper arms, thighs, and buttocks. Liposuction is not a solution for weight loss, but helps to reshape and sculpt the body.
Am I suitable for liposuction?
Ideally the best results are seen in those patients who are close to their ideal weight. Liposuction can help to tackle those stubborn to remove pockets of fat, that cannot be shifted with diet or exercise. Those patients who are in good physical health, and are non-smokers, respond well to liposuction.
What are the limitations of this surgery?
Liposuction can remove up to around 10 pounds of fat, so it is not suitable for removing large areas of fat deposits. You have to be realistic with your expectations of this surgery. Together with a healthy lifestyle and diet, liposuction can help you to have a flatter stomach or toned upper arms.
Risks of liposuction
Every surgical procedure comes with risks, and liposuction is no exception. However, your cosmetic surgeon will talk through the procedure and explain all specific risks and potential complications. Some slight risks may include bleeding, bruising, swelling and skin discolouration.
What happens during the procedure?
Small incisions are made into the skin and then fine cannulas are inserted, which then suck out the fat. This is usually carried out under general anaesthetic. Once the fat is removed the area will be stitched and covered with a dressing.
Recovery following liposuction
In most cases you can go home the same day. You won’t be able to lift heavy objects for two to three days. Results will be seen after several weeks and bruising or swelling will slowly subside.

4 things you need to know about liposuction

LIPOSUCTION IS A POPULAR COSMETIC PROCEDURE THAT TARGETS AREAS OF THE BODY SUCH AS THE TUMMY, BUTTOCKS, AND THIGHS.

Liposuction-Facts
Sometimes we just need a little help to sculpt and shape the body, particularly after losing weight or following a pregnancy. If you choose to have liposuction and lead a healthy lifestyle, then the results can be amazing, both for your body and self esteem. Below we explore four things that you need to know about liposuction.

LIPOSUCTION WILL NOT HELP YOU LOSE WEIGHT

One common myth surrounding liposuction is that it can be used to help you lose weight. Sadly, this is not true. During the procedure only a small amount of body weight is actually lost. Liposuction targets those stubborn areas of the body where you find it difficult to remove fat. It can also help to target areas such as the waist. Liposuction should be used in conjunction with healthy eating and exercise, not to solely help you lose weight. It should also be noted that individuals with a BMI over 30 are not suitable for liposuction.

NOT JUST FOR THE TUMMY

Many people believe that liposuction is only performed on the tummy and waist areas, but this simply isn’t true. It can be used on most parts of the body, where there are unwanted fat deposits. Liposuction can be carried out on the chin and even knees. Every individual is different, and a consultation would be needed before commencement of treatment.

THE NON-SURGICAL LIPOSUCTION OPTION

Today, many cosmetic surgeons offer a non-surgical procedure, known as Vaser liposuction. Unlike traditional liposuction that uses small surgical incisions, vaser liposuction uses ultrasound techniques, instead of puncturing the skin, that can target those unwanted fat cells. This is a good option when invasive surgery is not recommended for medical reasons.

MINIMAL SCARRING

Many individuals are concerned about the appearance of their skin following liposuction, in that they may be left with lots of visible scars. The good news is that liposuction produces minimal and fine scars. Another good piece of news is that these scars will fade within two to three months.

Liposuction Surgery for men | Fat Removal Clinic London Kent Essex Surrey

LIPOSUCTION SURGERY / FAT REMOVAL FOR MEN

Liposuction-Surgery-for-Men

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR COSMETIC SURGERIES IN THE UK IS CURRENTLY MALE LIPOSUCTION.

The aim of liposuction Surgery is to re-contour your body to produce a more proportioned and often aesthetically enhanced shape. The technique of liposuction Surgery has many applications and the range of procedures is available to both men and women. Women most frequently request liposuction Surgery to the hips, thighs and stomach. The most common area for men is the chest ‘Gynaecomastia’ and sides of the waist ‘love handles’.
The effect of the surgery should be highly noticable in the treated areas. However, although the fat cells that have been aspirated do not regenerate, a small percentage of these cells are left under the skin and muscle and will continue to store fat if excessive weight is regained.

TREATMENT APPLIES TO DIFFERENT BODY TYPES AND CAN BE USED TO TREAT BODY AREAS BELOW THE NECK, SOME OF THE MOST COMMONLY TREATED AREAS ARE:

✓ ABDOMEN ✓ FLANKS ✓ BACK ✓ ARMS ✓ HIPS ✓ BUTTOCKS ✓ THIGHS ✓ KNEES ✓ BREASTS

ABOUT YOUR LIPOSUCTION PROCEDURE

Performed under anaesthetic, liposuction is the removal of fat cells. When we gain weight we do not grow more fat cells. ‘Getting fatter’ simply means that our existing fat cells have become swollen. Liposuction Surgery removes fat cells and they are not replaced. A hollow metal tube is inserted through small incisions in the skin, which breaks up the fat cells that are then removed with a vacuum pump or syringe.
How does liposuction work?Procedure Time: 1 -3 hours
No of proc needed: 1/area
Recovery Time: 8-10 weeks
In previous years, liposuction was a surgical procedure typically associated with females with the tummy tucks being a means of females regaining their physique and confidence. However, more males in the 21st century are turning to procedures, such as liposuction, to gain the appearance they have always desired and overcome feelings of self-loathing. The question remains, why are men turning to liposuction?

WHAT IS LIPOSUCTION?

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure aiming to remove any stubborn body fat from the patient, and male liposuction forces specifically at the male body. The majority of men have problems losing fat from different areas of their body despite eating healthily and gaining regular exercise. This fat can be due to genetic factors or even the result of medical conditions, such as gynecomastia.
Both males and females present with two layers of fat beneath the skin, and it is liposuction that targets the deeper layer of fat. During a traditional procedure, the cosmetic surgeon will make small incisions into the body and utilise a thin tube known as a cannula to disintegrate the fat. The breaking up of the fat will prompt removal of the fat and this is then removed using a surgical vacuum or syringe. This is a simple procedure and can be done quickly, but it can take longer if the patient requires fat removal from multiple areas.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF LIPOSUCTION FOR MEN?

As with all things in life, liposuction presents with risks as well as benefits. Some typical side effects of the process include inflammation, numbness, bleeding, bruising, and skin burns in the affected area. More severe complications can be the development of infections, blood clots, or kidney problems.

LIPOSUCTION SURGERY RECOVERY

On the morning of your first appointment following your liposuction procedure you will need to have a bath and remove the white dressing. Your stitches will be removed at The Belvedere Clinic. Following this appointment your dressing and pressure garment should be kept on and in place for 7 days. You will then be able to shower but not bath until skin is healed. The pressure garment should continue to be worn for a further 6 weeks. Your surgeon will discuss this in detail with you however if you have any queries feel free to call us on the number below.

Micro Power Assisted Liposuction - Brand New Procedure

POWER-ASSISTED LIPOSUCTION – WHAT IS IT?

Liposuction, a fat removal procedure, is one of the most common cosmetic procedures performed in the UK, and involves fat cells being suctioned out of the body using a micro cannula and aspirator system. The procedure is used to remove fat cells that are not responding to diet or exercise and can be used to assist other fat-reducing procedures.
MicroAire-(PAL)-Liposuction
The Belvedere Clinic in London is a private hospital offering cosmetic liposuction procedures by GMC registered surgeons. With an excellent quality of care and experience in cosmetic surgery since 1985, we use the latest technology for our procedures to ensure reduced risks and a greater level of comfort post-op.

THE BRAND NEW POWER ASSISTED MICRO LIPOSUCTION PROCEDURE IS THE LATEST ONE LONDON-WIDE AND ACROSS THE UK

ABOUT YOUR MICROAIRE LIPOSUCTION PROCEDURE

The types of liposuction
The first liposuction treatment, known as traditional liposuction, was first developed as a cosmetic procedure in the 1970s. This form of liposuction is called “suction-assisted liposuction”, which means that the fat is literally sucked out of the body with the cannula. It takes a lot of physical effort to perform this procedure and is the most intrusive liposuction treatment.
Heat-based liposuction treatments, performed using radio frequency, ultrasonic or laser technology, essentially ‘burn’ the fat cells away, rather than ripping them out like traditional liposuction does.

THE NEWEST AND MOST INNOVATIVE METHOD OF LIPOSUCTION IS KNOWN AS POWER-ASSISTED LIPOSUCTION (PAL).

This method, which is available for both men and women, is most similar to the suction-assisted liposuction procedure, as it sucks out the fat cells rather than burns them away. The main difference, however, is that unlike the suction-assisted procedure, the MicroAire liposuction technology makes very small and very fast movements, as opposed to the heavy and intrusive movements in suction-assisted liposuction.
PAL also increases the cell viability, as less of the cells are damaged upon removal, making it the better procedure for when fat cells are to be removed from one area and then inserted into another.
Treatment applies to different body types and can be used to treat body areas below the neck, some of the most commonly treated areas are:
✓ Abdomen
✓ Flanks
✓ Back
✓ Arms
✓ Hips
✓ Buttocks
✓ Thighs
✓ Knees

THE BENEFITS OF PAL

As well as being a generally less intrusive form of suction-assisted liposuction, and being less physically exertive for the surgeons performing it, PAL also has many benefits to the patient.
The nature of the procedure, and the gentle movements made by the cannula, mean that less bruising and swelling will occur with PAL than with other forms of liposuction therapies, as there is less trauma to the area, making it more comfortable post-op. It also increases precision, making body shaping easier, and can be up to 50% faster than traditional and heat-based methods.
1.       Faster surgery (around 50% faster than standard or vaser lipo)
2.       Less trauma i.e. a more comfortable recovery. Less soreness, bruising and redness post op.
3.       The latest treatment for fat removal.

POST-SURGICAL CARE & EXPECTATIONS

After the procedure has been completed, your surgeon will present you with care guidelines and information regarding your post-operative care, but there are some general guidelines as outlined below.
It is normal and generally OK to take pain medication for a couple of weeks following the surgery, as although the procedure is less painful than other variations of the procedure, it can still be painful. However, you are advised to rest for at least the first few days, with minimal physical activity and will need to consult with your surgeon before taking any medication, especially aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs. The bruising and swelling will gradually improve over a few weeks.
Absorbent pads and compression garments should be worn around the area to absorb the drainage from the incision sites. The compression garments are worn for several weeks to help your skin to reattach to the muscle underneath where the fat used to be.

Lauren Goodger reveals she's considering liposuction

TOWIE BABE LAUREN GOODGER HAS REVEALED THAT SHE IS CONTEMPLATING HAVING LIPOSUCTION.

Lauren-Goodger-considering-liposuction

THE REALITY STAR – ONCE FAMED FOR HER DOOMED RELATIONSHIP WITH MARK WRIGHT – HAS REINVENTED HERSELF IN RECENT YEARS AS A WEIGHT-LOSS GODDESS.

However, it appears that Lauren is struggling to keep the pounds off through just diet and exercise alone. So much so that the 30-year-old is now considering plastic surgery to help her slim down once and for all.
In a new interview, Lauren told Closer magazine: “I fell off the wagon and I’ve put the weight back on [after releasing my fitness DVD]. I reckon I’m a size 12 now and I’m scared I might get bigger. I don’t know what else to do. Go back to the gym, diet and hate my life? I’ve spoken to friends about liposuction or a gastric band.”
She added: “I’d do anything like that if it meant I saw results fast. I’m sick of yo-yoing. I’ve tried everything else so surgery seems like the right option.”
Of course, it wouldn’t be the first time that Lauren has gone under the knife. The starlet has previously undergone a number of procedures, including lip fillers (which she kept for five years) and a rumoured bum lift. In 2004, she also revealed that she’d had a boob job to go from a 34D to a 34E. On that occasion, she also claimed that she was inspired to undergo the operation because of her fluctuating size.
She told new! magazine: “I’ve always had big boobs and where I’ve done extreme yo-yo dieting, exercise and then not doing anything at all, I felt like my chest had lost a bit of volume on the top. They’re very similar to my old boobs but they’ve got more volume rather than them flopping down a bit.”

ARE YOU UNHAPPY WITH YOUR FIGURE?

Lauren is proof that you don’t have to suffer in silence if you’re unhappy with your figure. Instead, you can overhaul your image with the help of cosmetic surgery. Whether you fancy an operation like liposuction or a Breast Enlargement, you should get in touch with Belvedere to explore your options.

Three things you probably didn't know about liposuction

LIPOSUCTION IS ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR COSMETIC PROCEDURES ON THE MARKET,

3-things-about-liposuction

EVEN THOUGH THE PROCEDURE IS SO POPULAR THERE ARE SEVERAL FACTS ABOUT LIPOSUCTION YOU PROBABLY DIDN’T KNOW. READ ON BELOW TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY ARE!

The Liposuction procedure helps people who are trying to lose weight with a quick, effective solution to their goals, giving the body a slimmer, more toned appearance using a process of ‘sucking’ fat from the body, usually from areas including the neck, chin, backs of the upper arms, stomach, buttocks and thighs.

BOTH PLASTIC SURGEONS AND DERMATOLOGISTS PERFORM LIPOSUCTION

Your procedure is likely to be carried out by either a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist. The plastic surgeon will specialise in aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries, whilst the dermatologist will treat any skin conditions you may have prior to or post surgery.

IT ISN’T FOR OBESE PEOPLE

There’s a common misconception that a liposuction procedure is only suitable for people who are severely overweight or obese, but this isn’t the case. The treatment does focus on fat removal, but it isn’t a treatment for obesity or weight loss. The best results from liposuction are usually achieved by people who are around 30% of their ideal body weight. The procedure will remove fat which has not responded to improved diet or exercise – but to maintain the results, these areas must be focused on post surgery. Fat that doesn’t respond to regular exercise or a healthy diet is likely to be more genetically based than as a result of your lifestyle.

LASERS ARE USED TO HELP BREAK DOWN FAT

Newer methods of liposuction include the use of ultrasound or lasers which help to liquefy the fat stored in the body, making it easier to break down and remove. These techniques also help to minimise bruising and swelling caused by the treatment and can also help to speed up recovery. By using lasers during liposuction, it can also increase the amount of areas of built up fat that can be treated during a single session.

5 reasons why women choose liposuction

IT CAN BE VERY SOUL DESTROYING WHEN A WOMAN EATS A HEALTHY DIET AND EXERCISES BUT IS STILL LEFT WITH UNSIGHTLY POCKETS OF FAT.

5 reasons why women choose liposuction

LIPOSUCTION IS A FORM OF COSMETIC SURGERY THAT CAN REMOVE THESE UNSIGHTLY FAT DEPOSITS. BELOW WE SHARE WITH YOU 5 REASONS WHY WOMEN CHOOSE LIPOSUCTION.

1. CONFIDENCE BOOST

Liposuction Surgery can dramatically boost a woman’s confidence. It is so disheartening when a woman has managed to lose weight, only to find those stubborn areas of fat that simply won’t go away. Liposuction allows a woman to once again feel body confident, sexy and proud of her appearance.

2. TARGETS SPECIFIC POCKETS OF UNWANTED FAT

Although liposuction is not a procedure to help with weight loss, it can get rid of those troublesome areas of fat, especially on the stomach, upper arms, thighs and buttocks. The beauty of liposuction is that it can target a specific area, or multiple areas, on a woman’s body, after dramatic weight loss.

3. ALTERS BODY SHAPE SAFELY

A woman can dramatically reshape her body and create a more toned and sculpted figure. If you are already at your ideal weight, then liposuction allows you to get rid of this unwanted fat in a safe manner. Many women choose to have liposuction on the tummy area, especially for the long summer months and bikini wearing weather.

4. HEALTH IS IMPROVED

It is proven that liposuction can improve a woman’s health. This is due to the reduction of triglycerides (fat cells) that circulate in the blood. An increase in these fat cells can lead to stroke and heart disease. A woman’s mental health is also improved as they feel more confident about their body, resulting in increased well-being and positive mental health.

5. INCREASE IN COLLAGEN

Liposuction can stimulate the production of collagen, which is responsible for making the skin appear firm while reducing wrinkles. Natural collagen production slows down as we age. This is the reason why skin becomes saggy, with the formation of wrinkles and fine lines appearing on the skin. Sadly, collagen production is only stimulated via laser liposuction.

IF YOU’VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT UNDERGOING LIPOSUCTION AND WANT TO SPEAK TO AN EXPERT ABOUT GETTING RID OF STUBBORN THROUGH SURGERY, THEN CONTACT THE BELVEDERE CLINIC TODAY.

Fat Removal Painless & Non invasive

Many people do not fully understand what’s involved in the latest non-surgical liposuction treatments so we’re here to give you all the information you may need before you book your consultation. Here are some of the most common questions we get asked:
1. What is non-surgical liposuction and how’s it work?
Non-surgical liposuction uses an ultrasound cavitation and cryolipolysis to destroy excess fat cells in the targeted areas. Once destroyed, the fat cells turn to liquid and are removed naturally via the body’s lymphatic system. The procedure is completely non-invasive so no incisions or scars to worry about, and you do not need an anaesthetic either.
2. Is Laser liposuction better than regular liposuction?
Essentially, Laser liposuction offers the same benefits as traditional liposuction but just removes the risks that come with having surgery. Additionally it offers other benefits in the form of skin tightening and cellulite treatments, leading to better results overall.
3. How long does it last for?
If you uphold a healthy lifestyle and combine that with regular exercise you will see long term results.
4. How painful is the procedure?
Unlike traditional liposuction treatments, Laser treatments are entirely free from any pain during or after the treatment.
5. Will the procedure be expensive?
Laser Lipo procedures are pleasantly rather affordable in comparison to traditional liposuction treatments.
6. Where on your body can you use Laser Lipo?
You can overcome the most dogged areas of fat with Laser Liposuction procedures. We can even get to the areas that you weren’t able to rid yourself of using diet and exercise. The most popular areas that our clients use non-surgical liposuction on are listed below:
•             Upper and Lower Abdomen
•             ‘Love Handles’
•             Thighs – inner and outer
•             Upper Arms
•             Upper Chest – under the arms
7. Do I need to book time off of work?
Quite simply, No. There’s no need for any recuperation time with this treatment. You can go staright back to work after your appointment if you choose to.
8. How many treatments are required?
This does vary between individual clients needs but we advise that you will see results after the first treatment. However, for maximum, long lasting results, we recommend booking a block course of 6 – 8 sessions.
9. Do you see men coming in for non-surgical liposuction?
We sure do! We have had lots of male clients who can say they have benefited from the great results Laser Liposuction treatments provide.
10. How long will I have to wait before I see the results?
Lots of our clients see noticeable results from initial treatment, with many citing that they have lost between 2 and 10 inches depending on the areas they have had procedures on.
